It’s hard to find the perfect piece of furniture that fits exactly where you need it. Jasper Shelves let you build exactly what you need.

A significant upgrade from particle board shelves. Less expensive and more portable than custom built-ins. Jasper Shelves are a system that will grow with you and your collection.

Jasper shelves are assembled from individual “cubes” that bolt together.  (Ok, they aren’t all square, but we’re going to call them cubes anyway!)

For a long time we thought the Jasper was the least expensive table we could make. But after talking to so many gamers who weren’t able to get a board game table because of the price, we decided we had to try harder.

A year ago, we sat down with the woodworkers and looked at the cost of every single bit of the table. Wood, labor, sanding, and staining. Boxes, shipping, and packing time.

Every single detail was looked at with a fresh mind. How can we think differently to get costs down?

Through every decision, we refused to sacrifice quality. For every prototype, (and there were a lot of them) we:

• sat at the table and played games.
• banged it, shook it, and even stood on it to make sure it was sturdy.
• imagined the table in our home. Does it look great? Is this a piece of furniture we would be proud to own?
• refused to remove any of the features that make a board game table a BOARD GAME TABLE.

THE END RESULT?

The Jasmine is the most affordable solid wood board game table ever made, but it doesn’t compromise on looks, durability, or functionality.

You know it isn’t just about the price of the table. It is about the price of the whole package. That’s why we developed a laminate topper option for the Jasmine. You can add a durable, long lasting, and good looking dining surface to your table for only $169.

A ton of people have purchased Jasper tables, and 99.9% of them are extremely happy with their table. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t room to make things better. After 5 years and thousands of tables sold, we’ve listened to the community and learned a thing or two.

The Jasper Table Extender adds 10 inches to either end (or both ends) of your Jasper table. It installs in about one minute by actually screwing into the bottom of the armrest, so you know it is strong.

The screws have big knobs. No tools required to take it on and off.

Wood

Here’s the nitty-gritty about the wood we use.

Jasper/Jasmine tables are made from Solid Red Oak in Southern Missouri, with the exception of a few parts explained below. Most of our oak comes from Northern Arkansas.

Jasper Shelves are designed in cooperation with our woodworking partners in Southern Missouri and manufactured in Vietnam using Malaysian Oak (Rubber Wood). They will have a different grain pattern and may have slightly different color shade than the tables.

The base boards of the Jasper/Jasmine table are not structural and are completely hidden under the neoprene playmat. They are made of MDF. It is a better choice than solid wood for this part of the table because it less likely to warp.

The laminate Jasmine toppers (white and black) are made with an MDF core and made in Vietnam.

Chairs are made from Malaysian Oak (Rubber Wood) from Vietnam and will have a different grain pattern and may have slightly different color shade than the tables.

Nine years of learning are also being applied to custom tables. If you buy a custom table through this Kickstarter, you’ll be the first to get these new features:

* Magnetic Cup Holders – We’re upgrading the Jasper to use magnetic cup holders. You better believe the custom tables are getting this fancy new feature too.

* Removeable Neoprene Play Surface – If your play surface gets dirty, take it out and clean it. Swap it out to change colors to fit the game you’re playing.

But it isn’t just about choice, it also about turning the quality dial up to 11.

The legs, drawers, and cup holders are still removable, but everything else is one solid piece, no assembly required. This makes the table extra rock solid.

Custom tables are made from hand-selected choice wood to look fabulous.

How to Pledge

Shelves

Jasper Shelf orders can vary greatly in price based on how big of a unit you are buying and how many upgrades you get.

If you are ready to make an exact plan and calculate the exact price, then head to the Jasper Shelf Builder and lay out your configuration. Otherwise, you can estimate the price by size (see the images below).

The pledge charges $399. On the next screen, you will see add-ons to upgrade to a larger size.

Don’t worry! In the pledge manager we will calculate the exact size of your order. If your build ends up being bigger than you were expecting, just pay the difference. If it ends up cheaper, we will refund you.

Tables

Choose the table you want (Jasmine, Jasper, or Jasper Long). On the next page, you will have the option to add a topper, chairs, and other accessories.

Both

Tables and shelves ship separately. Ordering both won’t delay shipping. Each will ship when they are ready.

If you want to pledge for multiple tables, there is no built-in way to do this. Manually increase your pledge amount and send us a message.

Sales Tax

• USA: During the pledge manager, after the  campaign, we will be collecting sales tax in these states – AZ, CA, CO, GA, IL, IN, KS, KY, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NJ, OH, TN, PA, UT, VA, WA, and WI.
• Canada: GST will be collected additionally in the pledge manager. Your furniture will ship from within Canada. No taxes are charged at the time of delivery.

Delivery Schedule

Both shelves and tables will be delivered as they are built. A few early backers will get the tables and shelves as early as September. We have listed January 2024 as the delivery time because we don’t want anyone to count on getting the shelves or tables before Christmas (even though some early backers probably will).

We will ship ROUGHLY in backer order. However, the order that products get built will also affect delivery. For example, we anticipate having solid wood Jasmine toppers ready before the Laminate Jasmine toppers. We will communicate throughout the process and try to be as fair as possible.

If this campaign gets more than 1200 backers, we will update this section to provide a more realistic delivery timeline for backers at the back of the list.
